“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
“How about you?”
“What about you?”
“Oh, and you?”
Isn’t that the general answer? (except for my good friend who answered giraffe. She got confused. :D )
And there’s always the couple of little kids who will say, doctor, mommy, or teacher.
I’m going somewhere with this, I promise.
My seven-year-old sister yesterday was reading some book about princess, and I realized how unrealistic and how much of a stereo type they are. Why do little girls want to be princess?
They want to be nice, loved, and beautiful.
But what is the reality of being a princess? SO many responsibilities and dangers. And princesses these days usually don’t even wear those fancy crowns and dresses and go to balls. So pretty much these girls want to be something that they never will be.
I give my respect to ANY little girl who says that they want to be a doctor, mom, or teacher. Because that takes work. You won’t always look beautiful, but you’ll be real. And those people are the real princesses.
