My Belief as A Baptist Christian

Well I hope that I’ve made it clear already that I am a Christian. But there are SO many kinds of Christians. Catholic, Luthern, Pentcastol…. I am Baptist.

What are a Baptist beliefs?

1) God made the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth.)

2) there is a trinity. A godhead. Three in one. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirtit.

3) God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross in place of us so we could go to heaven and have eternal life. (John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life.

4) One day Jesus is coming back. Jesus promised His disciples that one day He would meet all the Christians still alive on this earth at the rapture. That’s right before the tribulation period starts. That is something that you do NOT want to be a part of. But still going to hell, the ultimate punishment is FAR worse. That’s why it’s so important to get saved.

How to become a Christian:

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one”
Romans 3:10 (KJV)

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23 (KJV)

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 (KJV)

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (KJV)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (KJV)

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 (KJV)

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” John 1:12 (KJV)

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 (KJV)

Does that explain it throuroughly enough? And these are from the BIBLE! The Bible that has ALL the information you’ll EVER need. If you have anymore questions email me at indianawriterblog@yahoo.com.

Beliefs after salvation:

Generally if you are a Baptist Christian, you will see a desire in your life to live for God and you will see fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfullness, self-control (long-suffering), gentleness) coming about in your life.

Two big things that I’ve never seen a Baptist not be against, are (in other words we ARE against this):

-abortion

-homosexual marriages

My personal beliefs-

I don’t believe in religion. I believe in a personal relationship with God.

Does this all make sense? No rude comments please. You can state your comments, but in a nice way.

  1. That’s very similar to the Catholic beliefs… I think that Baptists just don’t follow the Pope and don’t believe Mary was completely without sin, right?

      • Yeah. I kinda agree with you about the ‘it’s abt. the relationship w/ Christ’ thing. Because Jesus did so many things, everyone’s interpretation of the symbolism couls be different…

      • Yeah exactly. It’s about your relationship with Jesus. :) It’s really what it all boils down to, even though I know that a lot of religions believe different things on the side.
